This button navigates to the '''absence''' screen.

The '''absence''' screen is used to record an employee's absence.

In order to use this screen, there must be one or more ''''reason for absence*'''' records present in the "'''reasons for absence'''" table.

;site*:This is a dropdown list, containing the operating sites which are available in the app’s database.

:A site must be selected from the dropdown in order to record an employee's absence.

;search employee:Either the <u>full</u> first or last name of the absent employee should be entered in this text field (e.g. 'John' <u>or</u> 'Smith').

:After a three second delay, the '''employees*''' dropdown will be filtered to show all employee names matching the search string entered in the '''search employee''' field.

;employees*:This dropdown allows you to select the name of the absent employee.

:*If no search string is entered in the '''search employee''' field, all employee names in the "'''employees'''" table will be shown in the '''employees*''' dropdown.

:*If a search string is entered in '''search employee''' field, only the employee names matching the search string will be shown in the '''employees*''' dropdown.

;reason for absence*:This dropdown list allows you to select a reason absence from all available options saved in the "'''reasons for absence'''" table.

;comments:Any miscellaneous information or comments should be recorded in this text field.

:Comments entered here will be saved as part of the absence record in the "'''absence'''" table.

;save reason for absence:This button must be pressed to save the employee’s absence record.

:If any of the mandatory form fields have not been filled, a message will appear to alert the user and inform them what is missing.
