Air Conditioner Maintenance Manual

Logging In

The first screen which appears after the Air Conditioner Maintenance app is opened is the login screen.

To use this ginstr app a ginstr subscription is required.

There are two ways to get such a subscription:
a) buy a subscription in the ginstr app store
b) sign a contract with ginstr (mainly used by organisations that have a greater number of users)

If the user already has login credentials for this app, they should enter them in the e-mail and password fields to login.

If they do not, there is a “sign up!” link located directly above the e-mail field. This will direct the user to a website giving instructions on how to sign up and get login credentials.

There is a checkbox labelled show password next to the login button.

When checked, it allows the user to see the password they enter in the password field as plain text.

The settings button settings grey.png in the top right corner of the login screen opens the ginstr launcher settings menu (see here for more information).

The user can exit the settings menu at any time by pressing the device's back button until they reach the ginstr app screen.

If valid login credentials are entered on the login screen, the app navigates to the first screen of the Air Conditioner Maintenance app.

Air Conditioner Maintenance customer screen

The customer screen
The customer screen with a signature preview

This screen contains a form used to record the details of maintenance reports for air conditioners. Fields marked with an asterisk “ * ” are mandatory and must be filled in before the report is saved.

customer*

The customer name is entered in this text field. This is one of the mandatory fields in the Air Conditioner Maintenance Report form.

Checkboxes

There are a number of checkboxes in this form, each corresponding to a task that can be carried out as part of a maintenance visit. These checkboxes are located directly underneath the “customer*” text field.
None of these are compulsory for a report, and a report can be saved without checking any of these boxes. Multiple boxes can be checked at the same time.

miscellaneous

Any miscellaneous information or comments are to be left in this text field, and will be saved as part of the maintenance report.

customer signature*

A customer signature is mandatory for the submission of this form.
This button opens a new screen containing a signature widget, where a customer’s signature can be drawn on the screen and saved.
The customer signature screen consists of a large white drawing space and three buttons, “cancel”, ”clear”, and “save.” The save button will only be usable once a signature has been drawn.
The cancel button allows a user to cancel the signature collection and return to the customer screen. A new signature will not be saved if this button is used.
The clear button erases all markings drawn in the drawing space, but allows the user to remain on the customer signature screen.
The save button saves the current signature and returns the user to the customer screen. A preview of the signature is displayed on this screen in a new widget, directly underneath the customer signature button.
This preview can be selected to reveal the signature itself, in full-screen mode. This signature cannot be edited here. To create a new customer signature, the customer signature button can be selected again, and a customer signature can be made from scratch.

Saving the Air Conditioner Maintenance Report

All information entered in the Air Conditioner Maintenance Report form can be saved using the button at the bottom of the page, containing the text: “save air conditioner maintenance report”.
An error message will appear and the information will not be saved if one or more of the mandatory fields is left empty. This issue can be solved by filling in the customer and customer signature fields before pressing the save button again.

Exiting the Air Conditioner Maintenance customer screen and app

All screens in the Air Conditioner Maintenance app can be exited using the device’s back button, which will discard the information that has been input on the screen so far and navigate to the previous screen.
There is also an off button in the top right corner of the Air Conditioner Maintenance customer screen, which acts in the same way.

ginstr web backend of the Air Conditioner Maintenance app

Logging In

The backend of this app can be accessed through https://sso.ginstr.com
A user can login with their email address and password, then click on the ginstr web icon to visit the site containing their Air Conditioner Maintenance records.

Recorded Data

There is only one table of records for this app, which shows the details of maintenance carried out on air conditioners as a number of items checked or left blank, and other details about the visits, such as the names and signatures of the customers involved.
Depending on the location of the device used to create a record at the time, there may or may not be GPS co-ordinates and address details automatically included.
There are also options to delete, add, or edit records
